It turns out it was a joke, anyway, with the www.nwo.no website.
I searched, in the Norwegian domain-organisation, Norid’s, database, on ‘www.nwo.no’.
http://www.norid.no/domenenavnbaser/whois/?query=nwo.no&charset=iso-8859-1&sok=s%F8k
And I found out, that the organisation behind the domain, was Dreamsource Einar Flesaker.
I called him, and he said that Dreamsource, was a sleeping IT-consultant company.
And he also explained, that now, the rules had changed, so one could register any domain-name, that one wanted.
He and a group of friends or people he knew, set up this domain, since they wanted a short domain-name, and all the other short domain-names, were taken.
And they wanted to have a bit of fun, with journalists etc, he said.
He also explained, that the reason, for why, the website, was drifted by Basefarm (Schibsted owned), was because, that these people, that used this website, www.nwo.no.
(for some personal purposes, it wasn’t explained exactly what the website, was being used for, but the website isn’t registered on a proper organisation, so what it’s used for, I wasn’t explained. I was only explained that a group of people, needed a website, for why this domain was registered).
He explained, that the reason, for why this website, was drifted, by Basefarm, was because, that the people, using the www.nwo.no website (for whatever purposes), were working in, or standing behind, Basefarm.
So that explains this strange website.
So it’s back to square one again then, I guess.
But I still think it was a bit strange name to use etc, since Basefarm owned by Schibsted now.
(And Schibsted has also been involved as owners, since the start of Basefarm, if I remember correct.
So I think this was a bit strange, with the choice of the name of the website etc.).
And this website, is also listed on Xiandos.
But that’s how it is I guess.
I’ll try to find out more, why this website is listed on Xiandos etc.
We’ll see.
