Why I didn’t even get to an interview, for the Arvato/Microsoft Team-leader job.

When I worked in Norway, then I worked ten years with management, in different Rimi food-shops.

Rimi is one of the biggest food-shop chains, in Norway, so I got used with organisation-work as well.

And I have modules from upper secondary school, and university-level, in organisation and management.

And different courses in management etc, from Rimi.

And for four of the years, that I was working in Rimi, I was working as a grocery store manager.

In three different shops.

I wrote an e-mail to ICA AB, in Sweden, regarding the problems with mafia etc., in the different Rimi-shops in Oslo, so then I started thinking more about this.

Because I worked in three different Rimi-shops, as store manager, in Oslo and Langhus, from 1998 to 2002, when I started studying again.

And the first shop that I managed, Rimi Nylænde, had a turnover, of around £2m a year.

And the second shop, Rimi Kalbakken in Oslo, used to be an ICA Supermarket, before it was converted to a Rimi shop, and it even had a staffed meat-department, unlike eg. Tesco Metro, in Liverpool City Center.

So this shop, Rimi Kalbakken, was a bit similar, with the Tesco Metro shop, in Liverpool City Center, I think one could say.

Except that Rimi Kalbakken, had a bit more shelves, I think, (but fewer customers, since it had a Meny-shop next door).

But it had a department where we sold steaks that were sliced manually, like at the butchers etc., unlike Tesco Metro etc.

The turnover at this shop, Rimi Kalbakken, was around £4m a year.

And the last shop I was working in, Rimi Langhus, (there were a lot of problems, at Rimi Kalbakken, with mafia or something like that, like I wrote to the Managing Director, at ICA AB, earlier today).

Rimi Langhus had a yearly turnover, at around £2.5-3.0m.

Something like this.

And at the shops, there were working around 15 or 20 employees.

And as store-manager, I was also like responsible for HR etc., for the employees.

So I think it was a bit strange, that I didn’t even get to an interview, for the team-leader position, that I applied on, at Arvato.

Just something that I remembered now.

But I wasn’t given any explanation.

Expect for that this was a business desition, due to lower call-volumes, in the summer.

But I think this sounds strange, since it was only a three month secondment, I think it’s called.

At least the lack of information, regarding the hirering process, that went on for three months, I think it was, without any information being given, I think was strange, I think I have to say.

But one can’t understand everything.
