hear your voice, and I appreciate both your concern and your

straightforwardness.

I’m sorry to tell you that I got sick and had to return to my family

in the US this week (I’m close to 70 years old and about to be

retired, after all). I spent the last days in a hospital. As you might

understand, I won’t be able to personally bring you home, but will try

to arrange for someone else to pick you up in Liverpool later this

month. I’ve got all the paperwork ready by now.
