Here are some proven tips to help you craft that killer headline:
Be unique: Don't just write "32-year-old guy looking for fun."
That's boring. You could say something like "Cupid seeks Valentine,"
or "Single no more!" or "The eyes have it."
Don't be cheesy: Unless you're being cheesy in an ironic way,
avoid it. "What's your sign?" or "Angel looking for his devil" or
"This time next year, let's be laughing together."
If you're not sure whether your headline's cheesy, it probably is.
If you're not sure, ask a buddy to check it out.
Make the headline about you and what you're looking for:
For example, "Writer seeks guy who loves reading," or "
Seeking a jog companion down the beach," or "Looking for a guy
who wants to save on the single supplement" (for a travel buff).
If all else fail and you simply has no idea what to write.
Write something random that will make the guy want to read on:
For example, "Blue eyes, black leather, and French cigarettes"
or, "Mom told me never to talk to strangers…" or,
"Breakfast at Tiffany's, dinner on the moon." Each one of these
raises curiosity enough that a guy will continue reading.
