Thanks for completing your application for Jobseeker’s Allowance online, it has been successfully submitted. You will no longer be able to view it online. If you need to make any changes or have not heard from us after 48 hours from submitting your claim please contact Jobcentre Plus quoting your National Insurance Number.
What happens next?
We will contact you by text or phone within two working days (Monday to Friday between 7.00am and 9.00pm, Saturday and Sunday between 9.00am and 5.00pm) to arrange a ’new jobseeker interview’ at your local Jobcentre Plus office. Please allow 48 hours from when you made your claim before you contact us for an update. Your appointment maybe on the same day. The interview will normally last between 20 to 40 minutes. If you and your partner are making a Joint Claim to income based Jobseeker’s Allowance you must both attend the interview, which could last up to 1 hour. Please make sure you attend your new jobseeker interview – we can’t process your benefit claim unless you do. Following the interview, your application will be assessed and a decision will be sent to you in writing. What to bring to your interview.
Please bring your CV to your interview, if you have one.
Please bring proof of your identity, for example a current passport or photographic driving licence.
Please bring the documents you used to help you complete your online claim and anything we have asked you to bring along such as bank account details, pay slips and P45/P60.
It could affect your benefit if this information is not provided and failure to provide bank or building society account details may delay your payments. If you need to contact us If you miss our call/text message, need to make any changes, or no longer wish to claim please call us (Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 6.00 pm – English: 0800 055 6688; Welsh: 0800 012 1888, Textphone: 0800 023 4888) quoting your National Insurance Number. Calls from BT land lines are free but if you call on a mobile call charges may apply. You may be charged if you use another phone company or a mobile phone.
