Hi,

earlier this year, I found out, that my Danish great-great-great-grandfather L. C. 'Lykke-Per' Nyholm owned a building in Amaliegade in Cophenhagen (right next to the palace of the crown-prince, etc.).

And they (he was married to Maren Gjedde, my great-great-great-grandmother) also had a 'herregård' in Frederikshavn (Bangsbo).

So they rented in Copenhagen.

And one of the tenants was US charge d'affair (and later ambassador) Michael Cramer (brother in law of president Ulysses S. Grant, who also was the leader of the north-states, in the American civil-war).

So it could be that the US (ambassador Cramer) didn't pay their rent, I've been wondering.

And that I therefore was sent back to Europe.

(They didn't let me go on my holiday.

Like everyone else).

Since you are an embassy, then perhaps you know more about this.

Also, I guess you're supposed to write in Danish to me (since I'm from Norway) and not English.

This I have to complain about.

When Danes and Norwegians chat, then they don't speak English do they.

I didn't speak English with my Danish-born grandmother Ingeborg (who died in 2009).

I spoke Norwegian, and she spoke Danish (she lived in Norway for more than 60 years, without learning how to speak Norwegian).

I want a reply from a superior about this.

Also, when I lived in the UK (from 2004 to 2014).

Then the Brits would always call me 'Mr. Ribsskog' in letters/emails, etc.

It's a bit clammy with the first-name in the salutation, I think.

This I have to complain about.
