Hi,

at economy-school ('handel og kontor') in the 80's I also learned that it's the customer/citizens prerogative to choose the correspondence-method.

So when I email you, then you should just email me the files back, I think.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Re: FOIA request

Hi,

I've gone to economy-school (handel og kontor) here in Norway, in the 80's (before I started studying at an academy named NHI, in Oslo).

So I've learned that it should be fine, to just send about stuff like this, in a normal letter (or email).

It shouldn't need to be bureaucratic (with a lot of forms and all).

So this I want to complain about.

I want a reply from a superior about this.

(I want a copy of the files (my job-references and uni-transcripts etc.) that the Detroit-airport-police photo-copied when I went on a holiday from Frankfurt to Detroit, in February 2005 (the originals have later been stolen (I have to call it) by some relatives, that lives longer south (in Kvelde) here in Norway).

And I also would have liked to get a copy of the letter that the Detroit-airport-police made, to do with that they sent back to Europe again (due to some type of misunderstanding I guess, since I was just going to USA on holiday, like many other people, and I had a type of modern visa, that was on a built-in chip, in my passport).

Regards,

Erik Ribsskog

PS.

I have genealogy as a hobby.

And I know that I'm the only person in the world, with my name.

So it shoud just be to search on my name, on your computers etc., I'd say.

Hello,

Thank you for your email to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Public Liaison mailbox.

• To learn how or where to submit a FOIA request, check the status of an existing CBP FOIA request, or retrieve your responsive records, please visit:

https://www.cbp.gov/site-policy-notices/foia.

We noticed that you do not have a SecureRelease account. Please create an account by taking the following steps:

• Access the Secure Release Portal (SecureRelease) by visiting https://www.securerelease.us

• From the top right of the home screen, select “Create Account” and follow the prompts to create a SecureRelease account.

Submitting a FOIA request online is the preferred method for many reasons:

• You immediately receive a unique FOIA tracking number and acknowledgment that your FOIA request was received by CBP.

• You can track your FOIA request any day/any time through your SecureRelease account.

• When responsive records become available, you receive an email letting you know records can be viewed via your SecureRelease account,

• You can view all your historical FOIA requests via the “dashboard” in your SecureRelease account.

In the future, please use your SecureRelease account to submit new FOIA requests to CBP.

Please note that all FOIA requests for official travel records on an individual must include 1) the subject’s name, 2) the subject’s date of birth, and 3) third party consent if someone is requesting the records for you. If this information is not provided with the original FOIA request, it will be considered “insufficient”, and will not be processed.

The DHS FOIA regulations at 6 C.F.R. Part 5 § 5.3(a) require verification of your identity, including your full name, current address and date and place of birth. In addition, your request must be made in writing, must contain your signature, and should either be notarized or contain a statement made under penalty of perjury as required by 28 U.S.C. §1746.

Finally, the CBP FOIA office has a significant backlog of FOIA requests. The expected response time for a FOIA request for travel documents is 6-9 months. If you do not receive a response to your FOIA request within 20 business days, please do not resubmit the same FOIA request as it creates further delays.

We are working very hard to clear the FOIA backlog and we thank you in advance for your cooperation.

You don't often get email from eribsskog@gmail.com. Learn why this is important

CAUTION: This email originated from outside of DHS. DO NOT click links or open attachments unless you recognize and/or trust the sender. If you feel this is a suspicious-looking email, please report by using the Report Phish button option.

Hi,

this is to do with an old FOIA/Freedom of Information-request.

So I think you've gotten it wrong here.

I want a second opinion, from a superior (like the Managing Director) about this.
