    Hi,

you sent me to MAS, in January.
The Council don't want to pay MAS for support, for me.
And MAS then don't want me to live here.
I have to move out on Wednesday next week, they say.

I'm still in the same situation, as in January, and have no other place to live.
Have applied for a lot of flats, but they all say I need a guarantuor, which I don't have.

I now get Housing Benefit, from the Council, but this weekend is a Bank Holiday, and I'm not sure if I can find new accommodation before Wednesday.
MAS means Mens Accommodation and Support, didn't you mean that I was supposed to get both accommodation and support?

Why have the Council turned in this?

Now it seems I have to live on the street.

    Just to update.
    Best regards,
    Erik Ribsskog
    PS.
Have sent many e-mails to the Council, about this, but haven't wanted to contact you, and get what happened at our meeting, at Liverpool City Council – Garston, explained, it seems.

    Hi,

MAS wanted me to go to a meeting at their address today at 11 AM, which I've just got back from now.
The meeting was with Steven and Tony there.
Tony told me that since I didn't need that much support, then they wouldn't charge me anything for the support I've gotten, so I'm not in arrears there now, MAS told me.
So it seems that this appeal isn't necessery anyway.

MAS told me that I don't need much support, and that they have other people who need support more than I do, waiting for accommodation with them.
So they gave me seven days, to find new accommodation.

So I was wondering if you at the Council could please help me to find new accommodation in seven days time.
Just accommodation and not support this time.
Thanks in advance for any help!

    Yours sincerely,

    Erik Ribsskog

    Hi,

I'm refering to your letter, from 26/4, which I've recieved today.
I appealing because I think the Council is a bit ignorant here.

Because it was James, from Liverpool City Council, in Garston, who sent me to MAS, in January, after the Scandinavian Church threw me out, since they had double-booked, like they told me.

But, I don't know what Mr. James, from the Council in Garston have agreed with MAS.
And I don't know what's normal to do when one lives at MAS.
I haven't asked MAS for any support directly.

But I've gone to MAS forthnightly to pay my service charge, which is £12 a week, and then I've been grabed hold of for meetings in the kitchen there most often, but also in the office in the first floor and second floor.

These meetings have mostly been regarding the housing benefit, since it took some time for me to get this.
When MAS have talked to me about First Aid-courses and Skills for Live and things like that, then I have thought that this was normal to have meetings about, when one lives at MAS.

What did James have in mind about this, in January, when he sent me to MAS?
He said MAS were one of the best places for homeless people, (like I was then, unfortunately).

Did James agree with MAS that I should get support?

I've understood it like MAS was a charity and it was surprice for me when I was informed that the advice they've given me was going to be made into an arrears to my rent with them.

So I felt a bit tricked when I heard this, I must admit.

But, I've also had problems with CAB, in conection with an employement-case, a few years ago, and I was 'messed' with by the CAB and have complained to their head-office in London, etc., about the problems there, without any results.

I therefore don't think I should go to often CAB after this, they freaked me out, by acting very strange there, like I've complained about to their head-office, and they also made me lose control of my employment-case.

So I don't have anyone to ask for advice, so when MAS helped me with getting on the Property Pool then this was a help for me, in my situation, since I'm not used with being on housing benefit when trying to get accomodation.

But it's still not clear to me how I can myself contact landlords and get a place to rent while I'm unemployed and on housing benefit.
Do I need a letter from the Council confirming that I'm eligable for Housing Benefit, if I wanted to try to look in the Echo for flats there, outside of the Property Pool?

Did James from the Council in Garston think that I was going to get only accomodation by MAS or did he talk to MAS about support as well?
This isn't clear to me, and due to this, I a bit think that this is something that MAS and the Council perhaps should find out about.

Since this went a bit above my head from the start.
Other than that I agree with a lot the things you write in your letter.
I'm usually able to sort things myself to do with accomodation and other things, but I've been unfairly thrown out, a number of times, in the last months, and I haven't got any emergency capital any longer, so it's a bit limited what I can achieve on my own, at the moment, unfortunately.

So I hope you can clear it up, because this was really initiated by the Council, (James in Liverpool City Council – Garston), so that I'm going to be stuck with arrears due to something that has been going on above my head, I don't think is right.

(And MAS also tells Property Pool-landlords now, that I'm in arrears, when they call them, due to this problem).
So I wanted to please appeal against this decition from the Council.

I'm also sending a copy e-mail to MAS, like I told Steven there, earlier today, when I was there, to pay my service-charge.

    Hope this is alright!

    Yours sincerely,

    Erik Ribsskog

    Hi,

yes, I've told the Council to send me a letter where it says I'm eligable for Housing Benefit, so that I can look in the Echo, for e.g. private accommodation.
So I hope we can talk more about this in the meeting tomorrow.

Also sending a copy e-mail to the Council so maybe they can get back to me regarding this.
Se you tomorrow at 11 AM.

    Hi Tony,

    thanks for your voice-mail now.

    The second voice-mail today.

You need me to call you now.

This makes me wonder, is this about support again?

I don't want to be charged for more support that I haven't initiated.

Can't we take this in writing please.

    Yours sincerely,

    Erik Ribsskog

    PS.

Please stop harassing me by calling me all the time.

new accomodation without support is very fine.
Maybe we could talk about it next week?

I get a bit stressed by all the phone-calls etc. today, hope it's ok to do this next week, have an e-business I try to run as well, which the Jobcentre knows about, so am going to be a bit occypied today unfortunately.

    Best regards,
    Erik Ribsskog

    Hi,

but the Council sent me to MAS.
And the Council are looking at my appeal which I've sent to you as well.
Shouldn't we wait untill the Council have replied to the appeal?

I have sat up all night writing on a book and am a bit tired now unfortunately.

Is this really such a hurry?
    Yours sincerely,
    Erik Ribsskog

    Dear Erik,

i am sorry you feel this way but when you signed your paperwork on interview it stated you must engage with your support worker, you are failing to do this after several attempts trying to contact you to arrange an appointment. You have stated that you no longer require support from ourselves only accommodation. I have said in our previous phone calls we have clients who need our support and our on waiting lists for our accommodation. Therefore we think this accommodation is no longer suitable for you and we have no other choice than to cancel your licence agreement with MAS. It is very important that you get in contact with us so we can try to arrange alternative accommodation where support is not provided. If you do not contact MAS we will have no other alternative other than to close your room and cancel your housing benefit claim with immediate effect.

    Hi,

    now you call me again.
I don't want support, only accomodation.
Please write to me like landlords normally do.
Don't knock on my door or call me on the time.

    Hope this is alright!
