Hi,
my grandmother (my fathers mother) Ågot Mogan Olsen, told me, in the late 70’s, that they (her mother and them) had lived in Canada, before the other white.
(Something like this).
And I wonder if my great-grandmother Birgit/Bergit could have been Mandan-indian.
Because she grew up in North Dakota, with her foster-father/uncle Gullik Gullikson (from Rollag/Numedal in Norway) and his wife Aase Levordotter.
Could these have adopted a Mandan-girl (who sometimes had blond hair, I’ve read on the internet).
My great-grandmother Birgit Mogan was born in 1880.
And her mother (my great-grandmother) Jøran Gulleksdotter Mogan was born in 1831.
So she would have been almost 50 years old, when Birgit was born.
So I wonder if Birgit really was adopted.
Thanks in advance for any reply!
Best regards,
Erik Ribsskog
PS.
My great-grandmothers foster-father/uncle Gullik Gullikson Tråen.
He found a well-known viking-treasure (Tråen-treasure) after he returned to Norway, and bought the farm Me-Tråen (in Rollag).
Could this have been something he really found in America?
Did the Mandan-tribe have any stuff from the vikings in Greenland (Vestbygda) or Vinland/Markland.
Thanks in advance for any reply!

Hi,
this has been going around in circles, for many years now, it seems.
So this I have to complain about.
